Make It
Step 1
Preheat oven to 325° F.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Step 3
In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Step 4
Add vanilla extract and egg and mix until combined.
Step 5
Beat in flour mixture gradually.
Step 6
Stir in morsels.
Step 7
Drop onto ungreased baking sheets by rounded tablespoon. Gently press tops.
Step 8
Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until edges are barely golden. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
If using cookie cutters, add an additional ½ cup flour to the recipe. Chill dough for at least 30 minutes, longer is preferred. On a clean surface, use a rolling pin to roll dough to 1/3 inch thick and cut into desired shapes. Bake as directed.
