Grown in the Heartland
We’ve been growing our pumpkins in Morton, Illinois for generations. Sure, we could go someplace else, but the soil, rainfall and temperatures here make this the perfect place to grow our pumpkins. In fact, the combination of soil and climate is what sets the sugars in our pumpkins to give them that one-of-a-kind flavor.
When it comes to planting, our farmers have to have a little patience. They wait until that last late-spring frost has passed and the soil has warmed up just so. Once late April or early May rolls around, they start planting in the rich soil. And for the next 120 days, they keep a close eye on their crops, making sure they get the water, nutrients and space they need.
They might not seem ordinary, but boy do they taste good
Dickinson pumpkins don’t look much like the pumpkins you carve up for Halloween (that’s because they’re an entirely different, delicious variety). But when grown and cultivated just right, they yield a sweet, bright orange flesh that’s amazing in dishes from pies to pastas, and a healthier ingredient to swap into some of your favorite recipes.
When you see a can of our 100% Pure Pumpkin, you’re practically looking at a pumpkin fresh from the patch. Our pumpkins go from farm to can in just a few hours, so we preserve as much of that awesome pumpkin color and flavor you love as possible. And did we mention that it’s 100% Pure Pumpkin? As in 100% natural. No artificial flavors. No preservatives. No kidding. It’s one of the reasons we think you’ll love LIBBY’S® 100% Pure Pumpkin as a versatile ingredient in all kinds of recipes. Our fresh-from-the-farm flavor shines through in everything from chili to smoothies, and can even be swapped into recipes for a little extra flavor or nutritional boost.
No one does pumpkin like Libby’s
So, you see, we’re not just into pumpkin. We don’t even just love pumpkin (but of course we do that too). We’re everywhere pumpkin is. We’re synonymous with pumpkin. We live pumpkin. We ARE pumpkin.
