Cookie Waffles with Strawberries and Chocolate Sauce

  • For the Strawberries:
  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • For the Chocolate Sauce:
  • 1 cup (6-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • For the Waffles:
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/4 cups (2 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 (12-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
  • Nonstick cooking spray


For the Strawberries
TOSS berries and sugar in a medium bowl; set aside.

For the Chocolate Sauce
HEAT semi-sweet chocolate morsels and cream in a medium bowl set over, not in, a pan of simmering water. Once the morsels have started to melt, remove from heat and stir until saucy. Set bowl aside over the warm water.

For the Waffles
COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt in a small bowl.
BEAT butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract with an electric mixer in a large bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the milk.
ADD in flour mixture switching to hand mixing when the mixture becomes too thick for the beaters. Finally, stir through the Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
BAKE on medium-low heat in Belgian waffle maker according to manufacturer's directions (approx. 3-4 minutes)
SERVE drizzled with chocolate sauce and berries.
