My mother began making these bars when I was 10 after she found the recipe on the back of the carnation condensed milk label. I started to carry on the tradition when I was 14 and I am now passing the tradition on to my 14 year old. These bars are ALWAYS a hit. We typically save them for Christmas, but they are so good, we have now incorporated them into our Thanksgiving tradition..
One of my favorite cookie recipes--I grew up making and eating this one! Great for kids to help in the kitchen--everyone loves this one!.
I HAVE BEEN MAKING THESE FOR YEARS. THE PROBLEM IS I USUALLY MAKE MYSELF SICK. I CAN'T STOP EATING THEM. I WANT TO SHARE THEM BUT THEY DO NOT MAKE IT THAT FAR. BUMMER..
