Monkey Bread Muffins

This is a twist on the regular Monkey Bread recipes. It makes 12 individual servings. It is easier to serve than the loaf Monkey Bread.


1 (12 oz) can biscuits -10 in a can size
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1/2 stick butter, melted
2/3 cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts, optional


Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Place cupcake liners in a 12 cup muffin tin.
Cut biscuits into 4 pieces each. (I use scissors)
In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and maple syrup. In another bowl combine the sugar, nuts, and cinnamon.
Dip each biscuit quarter into the butter mixture, then roll it in the sugar mixture. Place 3 or 4 pieces in each muffin cup, pressing down to compact. If there is any sugar mixture left over, sprinkle it over the muffins.
Bake the muffins for 15-17 minutes. Allow them to cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing to wire racks.
