Measure 2 cups of self rising flour into a bowl or pan. Add the shortening. Cut with two forks (or a tool made just for cutting in shortening)until the shortening looks like little peas. Add the milk and stir until mixture forms a ball. Knead it about ten times. Either pinch off biscuits and roll them, or roll out the dough and cut with a biscuit cutter.
Place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees about 7-10 minutes or until golden brown.
