This is an easy bread dough to make, it is a little sweet and can be made into many different shapes. We make this to have with leftovers that we call make-overs. The name comes from the kids because of the "fancy" shapes such as crowns, high heels, braids and other shapes we make.

Ingredients

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons baking powder
3/4 cup warm water
1 package yeast
1 egg
2 Tablespoons sugar
2 Tablespoons liquid grease
1/2 cup milk

Directions

Sprinkle the yeast into the 1/2 cup of warm water and stir until dissolved and add 1 egg, 2 Tablespoons sugar, 2 Tablespoons grease and 1/2 cup milk and mix well, set aside. Get a large mixing bowl and add to it 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon salt and 2 Tablespoons of baking powder and mix it up, then make a well in the middle and pour the liquid into the middle and mix until you get a dough ball. Grease your hands and flour your surface to pour the dough ball onto it. Knead the dough until the dough ball feels soft and pliable. Put it into a metal bowl and cover it and put it under a light and let rise until double in size. Then punch the dough down and knead for a few minutes and roll out and cut it with cookie cutters or braid it or make loafs, which ever you like. We also roll into a circle and cut into 8 slices like you would cut a pie. Butter the middle of each slice and then roll from the wide side into the smaller side. The grandkids like to help make the various cut outs. Bake in a 400 degree oven, time varies depending on the sixe of your cutouts and shapes. Just watch till they brown. Take out and brush with melted butter and serve.
HINT: If you cook a casserole while cooking the bread just put the casserole UNDER the bread so the moisture will help the bread rise to full potential. Or simply put a pan of water under your bread pan and it will work the same way.
