Ingredients
2/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
2/3 Cup Packed Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Softened Butter
1/2 Cup Shortening
1 teaspoon Baking Soda
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Rum Flavoring (can use Vanilla instead)
1/2 teaspoon Salt
2 Large Eggs
3 Cups Quick~Cooking Oats or Old Fashioned Oats
1 Cup All~Purpose Flavor
1 Cup Raisins, Chopped Nuts or Semisweet Chocolate Chip Cookies (if desired)
Directions
1) Heat the oven to 375 degrees
2) Mix the sugars, butter and shortening well. Then add the Rum, cinnamon and the eggs. Combine well and set aside.
3) In another bowl mix the salt, baking powder, baking soda, and flour together.
4) Stir in the flour mixture, the oats, and the chocolate chips.
5)Drop by spoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
6)Bake about 9-11 minutes or until light brown. Remove immediately from the cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.
