Put just enough grease in bottom of cast iron skillet to cover it, add 2 cups of white rice and brown the rice over medium heat. Do not burn but brown really good. Once browned add a can of salsa and let fry for about 30 seconds (it will sizzle) then add 4 cups of water and let it simmer. While it is simmmering add the following spices to it: garlic, comino, salt (if you use salt) We also like bell pepper and onions in ours. The salsa has a little bit of Jalapenos so if you don't like spicy use tomatoes sauce. Also add a can of whole tomatoes chopped up and let simmer until rice is tender and most of liquid is cooked into the rice.
