Steps for the cake:
Get out a square 9 x 9 UNGREASED pan. Mix the flour, sugar and baking soda in a bowl and pour into a sifter and sift into the pan evenly. Make three holes in the dry mixture you just put into the pan. In one hols add the oil, in the second hole add the almond extract and in the third hole add the vinegar. Pour 1 cup of cold water over all the pan and then mix with a fork, ntil well mixed but DO NOT BEAT. Bake at 350 degrees. Take out of the oven and LEAVE it in the pan, set aside to cool off.
Mix sugar, flour, butter and milk in a medium saucepan, Cook on medium heat until it begins to thicken, turn down heat to low and continue to cook until it is very thick. take off heat and add the almond extract and stir well. Put onto cooled cake. Add pecans and more coconut if desired. Now sit down and ENJOY.
