FRENCH BUTTERCREAMS

This is a favorite cookie around our house. Very good taste. This recipe came from a friend who loves to bake as much as I do. When I had these at her holiday party, I knew I had to have the recipe.

Ingredients

1 1/2 CUPS SIFTED POWDERED SUGAR
1 TEASPOON SODA
1 TEASPOON CREAM OF TARTER
1/4 TEASPOON SALT
1 CUP BUTTER
1 EGG
1 TEASPOON REAL VANILLA
2 1/4 CUPS FLOUR

Directions

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix well.
Place dough in zip lock bag and chill for 2 hours.
Take dough out and roll into small balls.
Place on cookie sheet. Then press with fork that has been dipped in water.
Bake at 350°F. for 5 to 8 minutes.
I sprinkle with colored sugars, red and green at
Christmas.
