Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Stir a few extras into a boxed cake mix to make an extra special cake. It makes a great birthday cake frosted with chocolate icing.

Ingredients

1 pkge. yellow cake mix
1 (3 oz.) pkge. vanilla instant pudding mix
1 cup milk
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup miniature chocolate chips
1/4 cup grated semi-sweet chocolate or 1/4 cup grated german chocolate

Directions

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, milk, eggs, and oil. Beat on low speed of electric mixer for 30 seconds. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in chocolate chips and grated chocolate.
Pour into 2- 9 inch layer pans and bake at 350 degrees for 33-38 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frost with a chocolate icing.
