A great alternative to regular brownies---good to make during apple picking season


1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1 beaten egg
1 heaping cup of flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup chopped apples*
1 cup chopped nuts (optional
* I prefer to peel and chop my apples


Cream together the margarine, sugar and egg
sift together and add to the margarine mixture the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, baking poweder and salt. Mix together and add the apples and walnuts--stir well. Grease a 10X10 pan---Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes--cool and cut into squares.
