Pecan Pumpkin Bars

We enjoy these moist pumpkin bars that have pecans added for crunch.


Bars: 2 c. pumpkin; 2 c. sugar; 4 eggs; 3/4 c. soft butter; 2 c. flour; 2 tsp. baking powder; 1 tsp. baking soda; 1/2 tsp. cinnamon; 1 1/2 c. chopped, toasted pecans. Frosting: 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar; 1/2 c. soft butter; 8 oz. cream cheese; 1/2 tsp. vanilla; a few chopped pecans for the top.


Cream butter and sugar. Add pumpkin and eggs until smooth. Add flour,baking powder, soda, cinnamon and pecans. Pour into a greased and floured 10x15 pan. Bake 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Frosting: Mix all ingredients and spread on cooled bars. Sprinkle nuts on top; cut and serve.
