Homemade Graham Crackers

These are easy to make and are as good as the ones you buy.


2/3 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2-1/2 cup graham flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup sweet milk


Cream shortening and sugar. Sift the dry ingredients and add alternately to creamed mixture with the milk. This makes a stiff dough. Roll out thin and cut into squares. Prick a few time with a fork and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 375 for 10 minutes or until brown. Watch carefully.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar as an option.
