Aspargus Cheese Casserole

This is great for a luncheon or as a side with any meat.


2 Tbls butter
2 Tbls flour
1-1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp butter flavoring, opt.
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups asparagus
2 hard boiled eggs, sliced
1 diced pimento
1 Tbls grated onion
1/2 cup grated cheese
corn flake or bread crumbs


Melt the butter, stir in the flour until smooth. Slowly add the milk, flavoring and salt. Stir until thick.
Layer the asparagus, eggs, pimento, onion and cheese in a greased casserole. Pour the sauce over the layers and top with the crumbs.
Bake 350 for 30 minutes or until browned and bubbly.
