Bake pie shell for single crust pie according to package directions. Set aside and cool completely.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in melted, cooled chocolate and vanilla. Beat for 5 minutes. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition and beating for 5 minutes after each egg.
Pour into cooled pie shell and refrigerate several hours or overnight.
Top with whipped cream before serving.
