sprinkle the orange sections with powdered sugar and chill overnight.
Beat the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy; add the flour, corn starch which has been dissolved in the 1/2 cup milk. Pour this mixture into the boiling milk and cook for 3 minutes. Cool and add the orange sections which have had the excess powdered sugar shaken off.
Pour into a ready baked pie crust,(if making your own substitute orange juice for the water in the recipe.
Beat 2 egg whites until stiff; add 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 tsp orange zest. Spread on the pie and brown lightly.
