Generously butter a 12 X 18 inch baking sheet.
In a dutch oven, heat the sugar, corn syrup, water, & butter to 275 degrees F., stirring occasionally.
Stir in pecans.
Continue cooking until temperature reaches 300 degrees F., stirring constantly.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla, baking soda, & pie spice.
Pour mixture onto prepared baking sheet & let cool.
Break into bit-size pieces & store in an airtight container.
