Christmas Gumdrops

A treat that uses ingredients you probably have on hand...perfect for times when you just don't feel like chocolate.

3 packages raspberry, or other red, Jello
1 can jellied cranberry sauce
1 cup granulated sugar, plus additional for coating
1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

In a medium saucepan, combine Jello, cranberry sauce, and 1 cup sugar until melted, stirring constantly. When melted together, remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Add walnuts, if desired. Pour into lightly-greased 9" square pan. Set aside at room temperature, loosely covered, for 24 hours. Cut into bite-sized squares, and coat with granulated sugar.
NOTE: I tried coating with Confectioner's sugar, and this worked just fine. Take your choice, and Happy Holidays.

Not a NESTLÉ®-tested recipe.
