Texas Sweet Potato Casserole

This dish is made usually for holidays but is good anytime.


3 cups mashed sweet potatoes
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 eggs beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tsp nutmeg
1 cup raisins
1 cup sour cream
pinch of baking soda and salt
Marshmallows and pecans for topping (optional)


Mix all but the topping ingredients together. Beating well with a wooden spoon. Spread into a greased 1-1/2 quart baking dish. Bake uncovered at 350 for 35-45 minutes. Remove from oven and put on the topping, return to oven until marshmallows melt and are lightly brown.
