Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, put the cake mix and pumpkin pie filling. Beat according to cake mix directions. Pour into ungreased 9x13 metal or glass baking pan. Bake for 1 hour. If not using 9x13, follow instuctions on cake box for baking times. Serve with cool whip sprinkled with pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
*This is excellent with spiced cool whip on top. Add pumpkin pie spice to thawed cool whip until desired taste (I used 1-2 TBSP for 4 oz. of cool whip).
