Cream the butter, gradually add the sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add next 6 ingredients, beating until smooth.
Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time. beating well after each addition. (dough will be stiff). Press the dough into 6x1-1/2x1/2 inch rectangles. Carefully transfer to an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 300 for 15-20 minutes. Remove to wire rack and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
