THIS IS A RECIPE OF MY MOTHERS .IT IS VERY OLD AS SHE WOULD BE 112 IF STILL LIVING

Ingredients

1CSUGAR,1/2C BUTTER,1 EGG,1/3C SOUR MILK,1teas.SODA,1 C CHERRIES DRAINED,1/4teas. NUTMEG,11/2C FLOUR

Directions

CREAM BUTTER &SUGAR,ADD EGG,SOUR MILK,BAKING SODA,CHERRIES ,NUTMEG AND FLOUR.MIX WELL.GREASE &FLOUR A 10X6X2GLASS BAKING DISH PRE HEAT OVEN TO 325 DEGREES.POUR ALL INGREDIENTS IN DISH AND BAKE FOR1 HOUR CHECKING AT 45 MINUTES TO SEE IF DONE .TOOTHPICK IN CENTER COMES OUT CLEAN ITS DONE .SAUCE 1 C CHERRY JUICE 1C WATER 1/2C SUGAR,2 TABL.SPOONS FLOUR. COOK OVER MEDIUM HIGH HEAT UNTIL THICKENS .WILL THICKEN AS IT COOLS .
CUT CAKE IN SQUARES AND SERVE WITH SAUCE .OPTIONAL WHIPPED CREAM IF DESIRED
