A TRADITIONAL INDIAN DESSERT.CAN FIND VERMICELLI IN INDIAN STORES.SERVES 4-6

Ingredients

2 1/2 OZ VERMICELLI
3 TBSP SUGAR
5 CARDAMOM PODS
2 BAY LEAVES
1 QUART MILK
2-3 TBSP RAISIN
2 TBSP ALMONDS
5 OZ CAN EVAPORATED MILK
FRESH GRATED NUTMEG,TO TASTE-OPTIONAL

Directions

BREAK VERMICELLI INTO PIECES INTO A LARGE SAUCEPAN.ADD SUGAR.SPLIT OPEN THE CARDAMOM PODS &SCRAPE THE TINY BLACK SEEDS INTO THE PAN.THROW THE OUTER SHELLS.ADD THE BAY LEAVES &MILK.BRING TO BOIL,STIRRING.THEN TURN DOWN THE HEAT.DONOT LET IT TO BOIL OVER.SIMMER THE PUDDING STIRRING 3 TIMES FOR 15MTS.MIX IN THE RAISINS,ALMONDS,EVAPORATED MILK.COOL AND SERVE IN A PRETTY GLASS BOWL.SPRINKLE SOME NUTMEG.
