4 TBsp butter,cut into small cubes
1 TBsp butter for greasing the dish
5 large sweetpotatoes peeled &sliced very thin
2 TBsp chopped sage,fresh
salt&finely powdered pepper to taste
1/3 cup maple syrup 1/4 cup lowfatmilk,1/3 cup heavy cream
Grease the gratin dish with butter.Place half the potatoes on bottom in a single layer.Top with 2 TBsp butter, half the sage, the salt, pepper& half the maple syrup.Layer remaining on top,then top with remainingbutter,sage& syrup.Drizzle with cream& milk mixture.Preheat oven to 400 degrees.Bake, loosely covered with foil, for 30 mts.Remove foil,bake another 30 mts or until the potatoes are tender.
