I needed a cake for a special dinner and I got this recipe from a very dear went over very well.


8 milky way bars, regular size
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
3 sticks butter or margarine, devided
1 cup chopped pecans
4 1/2 cups sugar, devided
1 (8 oz.) can evaporated milk
4 eggs, beaten
1 (6 oz.) package Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup marshmallow creme
1/2 teaspoon baking soda


Combine bars and 1 stick butter in saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until melted. Set aside. Cream 2 cups sugar, and 1 stick butter in large bowl. Beat in eggs. Sift flour and baking soda and add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in candy mixture. Add nuts and mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Combine remaining 2 1/2 cups sugar, evaporated milk, and remaining stick of butter in a saucepan and cook to soft-ball stage, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and add chocolate chips and marshmallow creme. Cool slightly. Beat until thich and spread over cake.
