Hershey Bar Cookies

Makes 112 cookies


5 cups rolled oats
2 cups butter -- softened
2 cups sugar
2 cups packed brown sugar
4 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 cups semisweet chocolate chips
8 ounces Hershey's milk chocolate bar -- chopped
3 cups chopped pecans


Process oats a small amount at a time in blender until
powdery. Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in mixer bowl
until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
Mix flour, powdered oats, salt, baking powder and
baking soda in large bowl. Add creamed mixture; mix
well. Stir in chocolate chips, chocolate bar pieces and
pecans. Shape dough into 2" balls. Place 2" apart on
ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 deg. for 6 min. Cool on
wire rack.
