Tofu italiano

No one suspects this dish is made from tofu. Tastes like lasagna.

Ingredients

2 1-pound packages tofu, diced
2 eggs
2 egg whites
1 1/2 cups sodium-reduced tomato sauce
1 3/4 cups sodium-reduced canned tomatoes, crushed
1/3 cup chopped onions
1/3 cup chopped green pepper
4 teaspoons garlic powder
2 tablespoons dried basil, crushed
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons onion powed
1/4 cup flour
20 oz. part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded

Directions

9 X 13 " BAKING DISH 8 PORTIIONS
OVEN 350 FOR 50 MINS.

IN LARGE BOWL, MIX TOGETHER THE TOFU, EGGS, EGG WHITES, TOMATO SAUCE, TOMATOES, ONION, GREEN PEPPER, GARLIC POWDER, BASIL, NUTMEG, IONION POWDER AND FLOUR.
SPREAD HALF THE MIXTURE IN A NON-STICK SPRAYED 9 X 13 BAKING DISH. TOP WITH HALF THE MOZZARELLA. COVER WITH REMAINING TOFU MIXTURE.

BAKE 40 MINUTES THEN REMOVE FROM OVEN AND COVER WITH REMAINING CHEESE. BAKE FOR ANOTHER 10 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE CHEESE IS NICELY BROWNED.
