BAKE CAKE ACCORDING TO DIRECTIONS ON BOX.
FILLING: Mix egg yolks and cornstarch. Bring milk to blil. Pour hot milk over yolk mixture, whisking all the time until all the milk is added. Return mixture to pan and cook on medium heat, stirring constntly for a minute. Remove from heat. Strain. Stir in vanilla. cover and refrigerate for 4-5 hours
chop chocolate and place in double boiler with whipping cream. Melt over hot water. Stir in corn syrup. cool to room temp.
Assemble: cut the caKE 1/2 horizontally. Make sure the filling and cake are cole. Cover one layer of cake with filling. Place the otehr layer on top. Put frosting on cake and chill and refrigerate.
