My grandma would make this everyone sunday for the family after church. It was great.

2 eggs
2 cups buttermilk or sour milk
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
6 tablespoons soft shortening or bacon grease

Beat the eggs.
Add the beat in the other ingredients until just smooth.
This is a thin batter. Bake in a hot waffle iron.
Make8 waffles
Sometimes my grandma would use Sweet milk and omit the baking soda anduse 4 teaspoons baking powder.

Not a NESTLÉ®-tested recipe.
