Peach Cobbler Deluxe

So quick and easy. I have made this recipe for years and it is always a success. You can use any fruit you want, but this one is with fresh peaches that are so wonderful.


1 stick butter or margarine
3-4 cups peeled and sliced fresh peaches
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
dash of cloves
1 cup flour
1 1/4 cup sugar, divided
1 Tbls. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk (or for extra richness use half and half or heavy cream instead of milk)
2 Tbls. sugar to spinkle on top before baking.


Melt butter and pour into a 9" square or round pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Add fruit (see note below) and sprinkle with spices and 1/4 cup sugar. In a bowl combine flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and milk - stir well until blended nicely. Pour over peaches, sprinkle with 2 T. sugar and bake 1 hour at 350.
NOTE: If using canned peaches, drain well. If using a canned pie filling no need to drain (omit spices). If using fresh apples, peel and slice thin and use spices as noted above. For fresh blackberries, blueberries or strawberries, omit spices.
