Mississippi Mud Cake

found this recipe in a box in my mother's kitchen

Ingredients

2 cups shifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cup strong coffee
1/2 cup bourbon
5-1 ounce squares unsweetened chocolate
1 cup unsalted butter
1 3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
whipped vanilla flavored cream

Directions

-Greased and cocoa dust 10-inch tube pan set aside.
-In bowlshift flour,baking soda,salt,together.
-In sauce pan bring coffee and bourbon to boli,reduce to simmer.
-Add butter, chocolate stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat. Then Add Sugar. Mix well
-In cool large bowl beat eggs until light.
-Beat in Chocolate mixture and vanilla until smooth
-Stir in flour mixture
-Pour in pan
-Bake preheated 275 oven 1 1/2 ours until center is done
-cool completely
