A versatile marinade. You could serve with a varity of spicy mustards.


1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 medium onion, minced
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 cu psodium-reduced soy sauce
1/4 cup dry wine
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
3/4 pound lean round steak, 1/2 to 3/4 thick
10 wooden skewers


In medium bowl, combine garlic, onion, sugar, soy sauce, wine and ginger. Cut steak into think slices and place in marinade. Marinate for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Thread steak strips ribbon fashion on 6" wooden skewers. Broil, turning once, to desired degree of doneness. Serve hot.
