Easy to make and my family loves it as a snack with butter.


1 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 1/2 all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
1-2 tablespoons grated orange peel
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup skim milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 egg whites or 1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
for Topping
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


Mix flours, sugar, orange peel and baking powder.
Stir together juice, milk, oil and egg. Add to dry ingredients and stir. Stir in nuts.
Pour into two 8 1/2 X 4 1/2 non-stick sprayed loaf pans. Springkle with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Bake until a toothpick inserted towards the middle comes out clean and dry.

Oven Temp: 350
Time 50 minutes
