Belgian Waffle

We got our family Belgian Waffle irons for a gift. My daughter in law called, and said it is not the same recipe that I used! She needed the recipe for Mothers Day!

1 pkg dry yeast
2 c. lukewarm milk
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 TBS. sugar
1/2 c. melted butter

Sprinkle yeast over warm milk; stir to dissolve. Beat egg yolks and add to yeast mixture w/ vanilla. Sift together flour, salt and sugar; and add to liquid ingredients. Stir in melted butter and mix thoroughly. In a bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff. CAREFULLY fold into batter. Let mixture stand in a warm place about 45 minutes or until mixture doubles in bulk. Use 7/8 c. mix per waffle.

My gang loves strawberries, ice cream and whipped topping! Mom loves this waffle day!
Makes 5 waffles.

Not a NESTLÉ®-tested recipe.
