2 cups sifted all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon each: cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and ginger
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 cups blackberry jam (seedless)
1/2 cup milk
1 cup raisins
Sift all dry ingredients together. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well. Add milk and flour mixture alternately. Fold in jam and floured raisins. Bake in a greased and floured 8 or 9 inch layer pans for 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
