Very good recipe for pinto beans.

4 cups dry pinto beans
3/4 cup chopped onion
3/4 lb salt pork
3 cloves garlic chopped
3/4 cups chopped bell pepper
1 jalapeno, chopped
2 teaspoons celery seeds
2 teaspoons cumin powder
salt to taste
1 to 2 cans (8oz) tomato sauce (optional)

Clean beans; put in pot large enough to cover with 2 inches of water; bring to a boil. Add onion, salt pork and garlic. After this has cooked for 30 minutes, add rest of the ingredients. Cook until beans are very soft. When adding water always use hot to keep beans from splitting. Serves 8 to 10. Enjoy
