This is a old recipe my great grandmother handed down.

Ingredients

6 pounds of cooking apples,peeled,cored,and coarsley chopped
1 cup water
4 cups sugar
1/2 cup white vinegar
2 tsp.ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1/2 tsp ground cloves

Directions

Combbine apples and water in a large dutch oven;bring to a boil. Cover,reduce heat,and simmer 20 to 25 minutes or until apples are tender.Mash apples. Stir in sugar and vinegar;bring to a boil. Reduce heat,and simmer uncovered 2 1/2 hours or until mixture is very thick. Stir in spices. Store in refrigerator up to a month.
