Water chestnuts wrapped in bacon with a brown sugar soy sauce glaze...very yummy!!

1 lb. bacon
1-2 cans whole water chestnuts
brown sugar
soy sauce

Cut strips of bacon into pieces small enough to wrap around whole chestnut once, hold together with a toothpick. Put wrapped chestnuts in a lightly greased or sprayed metal baking dish, or a dish that can go under the broiler.(Pan can be lined with foil as well for easier clean-up) Mix brown sugar and soy sauce in a bowl, making sure there is more sugar than soy sauce. (It should be thick and gritty) Pour sauce over wrapped chestnuts, reserving some for a baste as they cook. Bake in a 400 degree oven until bacon is crisp, basting with reserved sauce. If you like a crispier bacon, they can also be put under the broiler on low to medium setting. Let cool for at least 5-10 minutes as the chestnuts get very hot inside. This makes a very nice Thanksgiving or Christmas appetizer. Enjoy!
