Toffee Almond Cookies

These are going to be your brand new next best thing! And, then, they will be a top "Tried and True" recipe!


1 cup butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. almond extract
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
2 cups chopped almonds
1 package toffee bits
Sugar to roll cookies into.


In a bowl cream the butter and sugars. Add oil, eggs and extract. Blend well. Combine the flours, soda, cream of tartar and salt. Gradually add into the butter mixture. Stir in the almonds and toffee bits. Shape into 1" balls and roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.
