Ingredients
1 16-ounce package of linguine, spaghetti, angel hair, or your favorite pasta shape, cooked to your desired "al dente" doneness.
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup butter, softened
3 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper, or plus or minus to taste
1/2 cup grated Parmesan Cheese
Directions
Place the hot cooked pasta in a large bowl and set aside. In a large skillet, over medium heat, place the olive oil, butter, and garlic and cook until the garlic is just beginning to turn creamy-tan colored, but not toasted. Then add the red pepper, this whole process will take about 2-3 minutes maximum. Then, drizzle the mixture from the frying pan over the pasta and toss it. You can serve it with the Parmesan cheese on top, or you can opt to mix the cheese in with the pasta so the pasta is richly coated. Note: If you are adding a handful or two of peeled, deveined, cleaned, shrimp, add them at the same time you add the garlic. They will take about 3 minutes to cook pink and opaque. You can also throw in a handful or two of fresh or frozen peas for color. Brava Fantastico!
