Bio I am proud to say I come from a long line of scratch very best bakers. My Mother,Grandmother,Sister,Aunts all were and are wonderful cooks and bakers. My Aunt Sylvia was an exhibition cook in an all glass kitchen in Mexico. We came from extremely large families where, in that day, making things from scratch was the only way to do things so there was enough for everyone. We also canned and froze anything and everything we could get our hands on.We had huge gardens where we grew, harvested and stored our own vegetables. We also hunted, finding our own meat sources, deer, bear, rabbit, squirrel, grouse, ground hog,and pheasant to survive on. We canned, froze and dried that too. We girls learned from our for-mothers how to do things the right way as far as I am concerned. There were many a night that all we had for supper was a large pot of creamed tuna or dried beef over toast, pancakes etc. All our breads, rolls, biscuits etc. were home made. Anything to fill those bellies. Mother used to always make cornstarch pudding, which was the only way to do it back then. I love scratch baking/cooking and plan to pass that on to my Grandchildren. They both, ages 5 and 16, now help me in the kitchen. I want to be known by my family for the methods I used and my good cooking/baking.
