A unique twist on a favorite. This Bundt cake is infused with chocolate and cayenne flavors and topped with an elegant chocolate glaze.

Ingredients:

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 350º F. Grease 12-cup Bundt pan.

FOR CAKE:
MICROWAVE
chocolate in small, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; STIR. If pieces retain some of their original shape, microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring just until melted.

COMBINE flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt and cayenne pepper in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, granulated sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in melted chocolate. Beat flour mixture into creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour into prepared Bundt pan.

BAKE for 40 to 45 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes; invert cake onto wire rack to cool completely. Transfer cake to serving platter. Drizzle cake with Chocolate Glaze. Let set before serving.

PLACE 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar in medium bowl. Form a well; pour in butter, whipping cream, salt and melted chocolate. Stir until blended. If necessary, add remaining powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until pouring or drizzling consistency is reached. Spoon Chocolate Glaze over top of cake. Let stand until glaze is firm.

Comments: I was a little intimidated by the "intermediate" rating, but the recipe was easy to follow and the end product was AWESOME! I took it to a friend's house for dinner, and proudly bragged it was all from scratch. Even the icing! Thanks VBB!

Comments: As a food writer, I am always seeking new recipes to share with readers. This was a huge hit among taste testers, and I will be making this cake often. I've often come across other recipes (especially brownies) that combine the warmth of cayenne pepper with chocolate, but rarely have I seen a recipe that so perfectly balances spices like this one. I can't wait to share this deeply chocolate Bundt cake with readers. Sue Ade, Morris News Service
A Real Winner

Comments: I love to make pound cakes in a Bundt pan, and this one is a real winner. Everyone liked the surprising spices, although they were quite subtle. I think I would like to add just a little more cinnamon and cayenne to the recipe to give it just a bit more kick, or perhaps also add a bit of spice to the chocolate glaze. This is a very successful recipe and one I have added to my permanent collection.

Comments: I made this delicious cake this weekend, and everyone loved it including my children! The spiciness of the cake blends very well with the sweet frosting! Whoever invented this recipe is a genious! However, if you are looking for that real ooey gooey chocolaty flavor this is not the cake for you since this is a bit more spicy cinnamony. I made this dairy free to suit my lactose intolerance. I used margarine instead of butter, soy milk instead of milk, and dairy free whip cream instead of the heavy cream. THIS IS A REAL KEEPER! I will definiately be making this again! AWESOME CAKE!

Comments: This cake was easy to make, has great rich flavor and a fine texture. It made enough for my 10 cup Bundt pan and a round cake pan too, which delighted my family. It is moist without being heavy and has been maintaining its quality, although it has been nearly a week since I made it (we are savoring it). I highly recommend this recipe and will be making it again.

Comments: We had a fundraiser at work for the Christmas Cheerboard and I raised $30 alone just for this cake. We had people make cakes and then everyone at our work got to bid on them and whomever bid the highest WON. Well I made this one, which intrigued me especially since it had cayanne in it. So my bids went all the way to $30 for this. It smelt so good and wonderful everyone was just coming over to smell. Only problem is I did not get to try it, so I guess I will have to make it some time soon again just to try it out... THANKS
