Description

This Magic Mint Chocolate Bark recipe is a fun and refreshing way to enjoy the decadent duo of mint and chocolate. Swirling designs add artistic flair to this unforgettable treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate & Mint Morsels
  • 1/3 cup coarsely chopped oven roasted or toasted almonds

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 325° F. Line small baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.

POUR morsels onto prepared baking sheet. Arrange morsels so they are touching each other in a single layer (roughly an 11 x 9-inch rectangle).

BAKE for 1 to 3 minutes or until morsels are shiny. Morsels will retain their shape. Remove from oven to wire rack. With tip of butter knife or wooden pick, immediately swirl morsels to create a swirled pattern.

SPRINKLE with nuts. Hold baking sheet 3 inches above counter and drop to settle nuts into melted morsels. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

VARIATION: Substitute broken pretzel pieces or another nut of choice for the almonds.

Everyone wants an encore!

The "Winter" chocolate and mint chips are available at only a few stores around Christmas time. I tried special ordering from my local Publix, but they couldn't do it in time. I called around to other grocery stores and found one that had at least a dozen packages and ran to buy them all up. I have a large Christmas list and since I made this bark last year, they all want more! I tried substituting brands, but there is a lot in the "mouth feel" of Nestlé's, as well as what the morsels look like when melted. Stick with Nestle; just call around and find the right type. Perhaps Nestle would think about offering these year-round!!??

So Easy So Good

This was so easy & quick to make. The only issue I had was finding the mint chips. I ended up finding mixed bags of mint & semi sweet chips & using them. Otherwise: simple, easy & delicious.

Great but....

Did anyone else use a 9x11 pan as the recipe recommends? I found even that being to big, so I ended up scraping the chips towards the middle after they were melted. I will have to use smaller pan next time.
