These cupcakes with "cobwebs" on the top make a perfect spooky treat for your favorite ghouls.

  • 1 pkg. (18.25 oz.) devil's food or yellow cake mix
  • 2 (2.1 oz. each) NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER Candy Bar, chopped
  • 1 container (16 oz.) prepared vanilla frosting
  • 1 cup (6 oz.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
  • 1 small tube white decorator icing or gel
  • 1 pkg. (1.38 oz.) NESTLÉ GOOBERS Milk Chocolate-Covered Peanuts

PREPARE cake mix batter according to package directions; add chopped Butterfinger to batter. Bake according to directions for 24 cupcakes. Cool completely. Frost cupcakes.

PLACE morsels in small, heavy-duty plastic bag. Microwave on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds; knead. Microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, kneading until smooth. Cut small corner from bag; squeeze to pipe concentric circles on top of frosting. Using wooden pick or tip of knife, pull tip through chocolate from center to last circle to create a cobweb effect.

MAKE 2 dots using decorator icing on each of 24 Goobers to resemble spider eyes. Place in center of each cobweb.

VARIATION: Substitute vanilla frosting with chocolate frosting. Substitute melted chocolate morsels with 2 small tubes white decorator icing or gel.

Almost too cute to eat - ALMOST!

I recruited the engineer hubby to pipe in the "concentric" circles, and the kids to place the candies on top, and it turned into a family affair! Brought them to my Jazzercise Halloween class and it was a hit, both in taste and in looks!

my kids loved the design, it was very easy and fun to make. Instead of Goobers I use spider rings.

love the idea of putting butterfinger pieces in a cupcake, YUM! I like the cobwebs better though, if you use chocolate to frost, and melted white baking chocolate for the web!

My 14 year old SON and I made these cup cakes together. Since he doesn't like Butterfingers or Goobers, we substituted them with Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips and some Buncha Crunch. We had so much fun making them and they looked so "cool"!

Grandchildren Loved Them

by S. Sherry , Butler, PA on Nov. 2008

I have 2 grandchildren, one is 2 1/2 and the other is 8. They always come to grandma's for Halloween goodies, and I made theese cupcakes for them, and they were so excited! The 8 year old said it was too nice to eat and ruin them, but that lasted about 3 minnutes until her sister ate hers and the 8 year old tasted it. It was requested that I make them again next year1

It was so easy to follow kid friendly the kind we love to try together,he fingured everything then tasted as we mixed and baked, My 6 a little baker but like all guys he took the credit that they were great,Spooky and fun, oh and GOOD we had so much fun we will do this every year, hopefully next year without so much little fingering, but maybe that was after all what made then so good the extra LOVE added. one Happy NINI
