Better than Ma's Pumpkin Pie!

by G. G , Ca on Dec. 2009

I made these yummy squares for my families Christmas Eve gathering and they were a hit! My mother proclaimed that they were better than Ma's homemade pumpkin pie, and that is quite a feat! Easy to make, and so so good.

A Fall/Thanksgiving Winner!

by J. Julie , Hazlet, NJ on Nov. 2009

I have been making this recipe since 1974 so it is a tradition in our house. I just made 2 last week and brought one to work. Everyone raved about them and asked for the recipe. You can't do better than that. I actually make one and half times the amount of topping. I begin making the topping first in the food processor and refrigerate it while preparing the rest. It saves one wash of the processor. Make sure to use cold butter.

I made this recipe for the last holidays and it simply dissappeared after 10 minutes. My kids liked them very much and want to taste them again. I added more pecans and brown sugar and it was even better.

Great on first day

These were great to take to pot luck suppers and much easier than baking a pie. However, leftovers were soggy on bottom the next day

I am not a pumpkin pie fan but I made this for fellowship after church and got rave reviews! I even liked it. The pecans on top make the difference.

I have a similar recipe but does not include oat meal and it calls for 4 eggs. But it looks very similar.

Prize winner!

The recipe looked so good so tried it out on some friends and they loved it. I entered in our church's pie baking contest and it won first place! There was not one bite left to bring home! Thanks for a delicious recipe. The oats in the crust makes it more heart healthy than pie crust.

Very Nice

by T. Timothy , Shreveport, LA on Nov. 2008

I made these for a pre-thankgiving dinner party at my dad's house. I cannot begin to describe how delicious these are. Much better than regular pumkin pie, and the crust is absolutely wonderful, who woulda thought oats would taste so good with pumpkin. I would recommend adding more pecans and brown sugar to the top tho.
