This was a great big hit! Probably the best rice pudding recipe I have used! I substitute splenda whenever I can and it did not change the taste at all!

Nice Aroma, Filling Sweetness

by L. Lisa , PASADENA, CA on Sep. 2006

Rice pudding isn't my favorite, but I did enjoy the aroma of the spices in this one, and the nutty flavor of brown rice. It was too filling to eat much of, but I shall remember the idea of naturally sweet flavoring with unsweetened apple juice and cinnamon.

Brown Rice Pudding

I can't wait to make this for my husband as he is a HUGE fan of rice pudding. I like the idea of using brown rice as we don't use white rice in our household any more. My husband does not like raisins so I think I will substitue walnuts or pecans.

Creamy Brown Rice Pudding

Better than white rice pudding and great on a cold raining day. Cook the rice longer and in more water than normal so that it is tender. I used regular rather than "fat free" milk, doubled the raisins, and used apple cidar instead of juice. Nutty with hint of apple and spices....Yum!

I think this recipe is fabulous. I tried it with dried currants instead of raisins and everyone loved it.
