  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Morsels
  • 5 teaspoons water
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon butter (we recommend LAND O LAKES® Butter)

PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease five (5 1/2 x 3-inch) mini loaf pans or aluminum foil pans.

brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter in large mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy, scraping bowl often. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate morsels by hand. Spoon batter into prepared pans.

BAKE for 35 to 42 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pans on wire racks for 10 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. (Do not remove if using aluminum foil pans.)

1/2 cup morsels, 1 tablespoon butter and water in 2-quart saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract. Drizzle over each loaf. Cool completely.

Omit 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in bread and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract in glaze. Add 1/2 teaspoon mint extract to bread and 1/4 teaspoon mint extract to glaze.

This recipe was fantastic. I made it with my homemade applesauce and was pleased with the small amount of sugar that was needed. I made one loaf and the rest into mini muffins. I also added chopped pecans. My family loves them and I will definitely put it into my permanent recipe book. Many thanks!

this so great for a gift and so good too. The drizzle one the mini loaves make it go rich and so very good. I made it for some now nabs, and that had to have the recipe.

My step daughter loved these with the choc. glaze but I like them without the glaze. Also I glazed this when we were ready to eat.

I love double chocolate chip muffins. I was looking for a recipe as moist as "Spunkmeyers". When I found this recipe and tried it, it was perfect! Just as moist as my old muffins and this tastes like heaven made in my Grandma's kitchen years ago when I was a kid. Very easy to make and doesn't take all that long. Love the smell of the chips!

Surprisingly Good

by R. ROSEMARY , SUWANEE, GA on Nov. 2005

I wanted something besides the traditional pumpkin bread to give as little gifts at Christmas, so thought I'd give this a try. It is very good. I followed the cooking time on the recipe and the bread came out perfect. I froze them without the glaze, but of course, had to cut one loaf up to taste-test. I'm a chocoholic and I think the glaze will be wonderful as it was not as sweet as I usually prefer. But, for those that don't care for the sticky sweet taste, sans the glaze is very good.
