Great baking project with kids

by S. SUE , Sugarloaf, PA on Jan. 2009

I am den leader for my son's Bear Den in Cub scouts. The boys had a cooking requirment to work on where they needed to make cookies or brownies. I made the arrangements and assembled all the ingredients and tools and met with all 8 boys in a tiny kitchen. The recipe was easy and each boy got the chance to add or stir an ingredient. The hardest part was waiting for them to cool so the boys could take a treat home with them (we put the baked brownies in the freezer to cool faster). The boys really enjoyed their time in the tiny kitchen! I look forward to someday baking with the den again.

Really easy recipe. I had the batter all ready to go and had to wait for the oven to preheat. Great recipe to make with your kids/grandkids. Taste is moist and rich.

Delish!

by K. Kate , WEST SACRAMENTO, CA on Sep. 2007

This was my first time making brownies from scratch and I actually substituted semi sweet chocolate chips and lowered the amount of sugar and these turned out so incredible! I made them in a pan (not in a microwave) and added a little extra salt. These are so delish! I cut them into tiny squares and put them in the fridge because they are very FUDGEY!

I make these every year for holiday meals at work and for bake auctions. They are so easy to make and taste GREAT!! The year I was unable to make them due to heath reasons, everyone was so disapointed and I had to promise to make them as soon as I was up to it!
